Externship with Vital Imaging,35 hours a week oporating a Siemens Megnatom 1.0T-Strength Imager and Fonar Sympulse 0.6T Open Imager. Responsibilities include patient care and management,patient comfort,solely managing the operator's console,and utilizing proper placement in each imager thus resulting in correct and clear images per industry standards.
Prepare patients for imaging scans,changing to scrubs,removing metals.
Data entry of patient clinical history,anatomical area to be scanned,orientation specified and position of entry. Placing markers to identify areas of maximum pain or ROI.
Ensure that the equipment is operating properly.
Conduct screening interviews of patients to identify contra-indications,such as ferrous objects,pregnancy,prosthetic heart valves,cardiac pacemakers.
Create backup copies of images by transferring images from disk to storage media or.
Assist doctors with intravenously contrast dyes.
Explain MRI procedures to patients,patient representatives,or family members.
